MOW Eligibility

Homebound adults residing in Boynton Beach may qualify for The Soup Kitchen Meals on Wheels program, regardless of ability to pay.

To receive meals, you must:

  1. Be over the age of 18
  2. Be homebound*and unable to meet basic nutritional needs** either temporarily or long term
  3. Live alone or have a caregiver whose responsibilities for you, the TSK Meals on Wheels client, prevents them from shopping or cooking regularly
  4. Have no family members living locally or lack support from those who do live nearby and thus, have no other reliable means of obtaining your daily meals
  5. Have limited financial resources.
  6. Manage without the regular assistance of a companion or aide.
  7. Reside in our service area which is presently limited to the City of Boynton Beach.

*Definition of”homebound”: Unable to leave the home without considerable difficulty and/or assistance. A person may leave home for medical treatment or short, infrequent absences for non-medical reasons, such as a trip to the barber or religious services. To be so defined, absences from the home must be infrequent, of short duration and usually to receive medical care not available at home—e.g.,hemodialysis or chemotherapy.

**Definition of”unable to meet basic nutritional needs”: Unable to prepare/have difficulty preparing at least one nutritious meal daily because of physical or mental limitations, or unable to obtain/have difficulty obtaining necessary food.

Other household members who may be eligible:

  1. A spouse who is a caregiver to The Soup Kitchen Meals on Meals recipient.
  2. Disabled children of any age and minor children for whom you provide primary care
