- We were able to serve a growing number (Up by 200%) of people without ANY interruptions during the expansion/construction.
- We were able to secure complete funding for the Expansion by establishing NEW relationships, allowing us to expand without acquiring any debt.
- We have rebuilt our Volunteer Staff from a mere 3-person a day during last year’s Pandemic to an Active Team of over 290!
- The walk-through pantry was converted into a fully screened-in distribution window.
- We established a PRE-SHIFT meeting each morning with all volunteers and staff to discuss Health & Safety Protocol, Food Menu for the day, Updates on Expansion, Stories, News, Volunteer welcome, and Q&A time.
- All staff members were vaccinated with booster shots throughout 2021.
- The Soup Kitchen was open for a total of 365 days without interruption even during two major scheduled power outages due to construction.
- We served a total of 560,179 hot meals.
- We distributed over 350,000 bags of groceries.
- We gave away $9,382,274 worth of food.
- We distributed near 2,000 frozen turkeys and sides for Thanksgiving.
- We distributed over 11,000 toys in December 18th’s Meet Santa Day to 2,600 families.

- The cost of one meal at TSK continues to be $0.60, even though this year’s inflation skyrocketed.
- We secured and distributed over 160,000 diapers for the Taking Care of Our Babies program, serving over 100 moms in a single diaper day.
- The Meals on Wheels (“MOW”) program, with the assistance of over 120 volunteer drivers, delivered over 160,000 meals to 120 homebound seniors.
- We personally secured $65,000 to purchase ALL new appliances in the kitchen.
- We received Mike McCarthy’s generous donation of $30,000 to support the Volunteer matching campaign.
- We welcomed new board members, Dick Syatt, Yoli Peña-Buitrago, Jon Maring and Paris Webb to the Board.
- We completed many events while partnering with Caridad Clinic throughout the year, including Vaccination Saturdays, Meet Santa Day, and numerous Covid testing days.
